"Editing Line by Line" by Cynthia Linville

Linville argues that line by line editing strategies can be taught to ESL students through peer tutoring. She also suggests that tutors memorize six specific grammar rules for common compositional errors. These can be used in tutoring sessions.
i think worksheets can provide practice for learning good grammar skills.I think any student, whether ESL or learning disabled will find more success through practical application on their own writing than through correcting samples written by others.
Tutors can take advantage of grammar handbooks available in the writing centers to explain grammar rules to their students.
